Adding private TMs to a project (with no rights for others to use or see)

Recommended Posts

Is there a possibility to create or add a translation memory when you are working for a client who already created the project, so he couldn't use and see my translation memory for confidential purposes? It may concern, for example, other translators who must not see my translation memory or terms memory.

A good question, Yan. I guess many translators thought about using a private TM (read-only) with projects assigned by a translation agency without disclosing TM content to such agency.

If you are invited to a project as a mere assignee (whether via the marketplace or as an internal account user), you cannot add your own translation memories or glossaries at all. But this is something we’re looking into — @Pavel Doronin pls check if we can implement this suggestion once we add this feature.

In your own projects of course no one can see or use your TM — but I guess that’s not the case you were referring to.

Hope this helps!

@RussianTranslatorPro, fyi as well.
