Not at the moment, but we’re working on it!

Right now the best way (if it’s an Excel) is to upload just one column and then copypaste the downloaded translation back to the original Excel.

Ok, thanks for your prompt reply...

It will be good if we can upload bilingual files, for post-editing (MT) project for ex., and perform the work on smartCAT, easy and comfortable

Hello,

I'm actually first creating .xliff files than uploading them on SmarCat. The only problem I encountered last time, it is that segments I've locked on Trados were not locked on SmartCat. I should have to redo that part of the job, locking segments that shouldn't be translated by the Freelancer. I'm aware now!!!!

The workflow is not that big so I'm good with it.

Best!

I'll investigate this issue and we'll fix it if you kindly send me a couple of sample files with locked segments which aren't locked in Smartcat (as a direct message, for example)

I've just done the following:

  • Imported a file in Trados Studio
  • Locked a couple of segments and exported the sdlxliff file.
  • Imported the sdlxliff file in Smartcat with default settings
  • The locked segments appeared as locked in Smartcat.
